I love to collect matchbooks and packs of sugar from restaurants, and items from all the beach combing to remind me of the nice places I visit. This week I framed the sticker off the brown paper bag from Cavaniola’s shop in Sag Harbor together with matchbook covers from Pierre’s restaurant in Bridgehampton.

This is now in the kitchen.

And on the sideboard are some more shells.

Back in August when the materials were chosen, it seemed like the plan for the bathroom renovation was set. Since then we changed the design and dropped some materials (glass tile and shower bench) to lower the cost. Then came the long wait for approval from the building.

Months.

Here was a sketch (bad and only copy) of the shower.

And here it is coming together!

There will be LOTS of cleanup.
